Taste

I want to be a stay at home mom so bad I can almost taste it.

Have you ever had a desire so strong that you could almost taste it? In this sense, to taste means to see, feel, and experience it to a degree. You can picture it in your mind's eye.

On an afternoon like this one, when I have a little extra time at home with Jonah, I can taste it. I feel the stir to sit in our rocking chair and read bible stories before nap time. I gobble those moments up and savor them like the last few bites of chocolate. I feel an alignment with my purpose.

The bible says to "Taste and see that the Lord is good"(Psalm 34:8). Feel it, see it, experience it. This is a call to live relationally with Him. To experience life walking with Him. To let his Holy Spirit stir inside you. Respond to his invitation to step out and let Him love on you.

Can you picture it? What would it be like if we could actually live in perfect harmony with the one who created us inside His perfect imagination? How would your fears change? Your desires? Your motivation?

What if we wanted it so badly, that not only could we almost taste it...but we actually wrestled with it until we grasped it? Tasted it.
